PropertyIQ ("we," "us," or "our") operates propertyiq.report and provides short-term rental income analysis reports. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and what rights you have. By using our website or services, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Information We Collect
A. Information You Provide Directly
When you place an order, submit a contact form, or request a report, we may collect:
- Identity & contact data — your name, email address, phone number (optional)
- Property data — the address, bedroom/bathroom count, square footage, and other details of the property you want analyzed
- Business data — your brokerage name, market area, and intended use of the report (for realtor accounts)
- Payment data — billing name and email; card numbers and payment credentials are handled exclusively by Stripe and never touch our servers (see Section 5)
- Communications — messages you send us via support or contact forms
B. Information Collected Automatically
When you visit our website, we automatically receive limited technical data including:
- IP address and approximate geographic region (country/state level)
- Browser type and version, operating system
- Pages visited, time on page, and referring URL
- Session duration and click interactions (via Tawk.to chat widget)
We do not collect or store payment card numbers, CVV codes, or bank account details. All payment data flows directly to Stripe's PCI-DSS Level 1 certified infrastructure.
C. Information from Third-Party Sources
We do not purchase or import personal data from data brokers. We may receive basic transaction confirmation data from Stripe (e.g., that a payment succeeded and the associated email address).
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Deliver your report — fulfill your order and send the completed PropertyIQ report to the email address you provided
- Process payments — pass your billing email to Stripe to initiate and confirm transactions
- Communicate with you — respond to support inquiries, send order confirmations, and provide delivery status updates
- Improve our service — analyze aggregate usage patterns to enhance report quality and website usability
- Marketing (opt-in only) — send occasional newsletters or product announcements if you have opted in; you may unsubscribe at any time
- Legal compliance — retain records as required by applicable tax, accounting, and consumer protection laws
We do not sell your personal information to third parties for their marketing purposes. We do not use your data for targeted advertising.
3. Cookies & Tracking Technologies
Our website uses a limited set of cookies and similar technologies:
| Technology | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Session cookie | PropertyIQ | Remembers form state and order flow during your visit | Session |
| localStorage | PropertyIQ | Temporarily stores your order details before redirecting to Stripe checkout | Until cleared |
| Chat widget | Tawk.to | Enables live chat support; Tawk.to may set its own functional cookies | Per Tawk.to policy |
| Font delivery | Google Fonts | Loads Playfair Display and Open Sans typefaces over CDN | Session |
We do not use advertising cookies, retargeting pixels, or cross-site tracking technologies. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though some site features (such as the order flow) may not function correctly without them.
4. How We Share Your Information
We share personal information only in the following limited circumstances:
- Service providers — we use trusted third-party vendors who process data on our behalf, including Stripe (payments), Tawk.to (chat), and email delivery providers. These vendors are bound by data processing agreements and may not use your data for their own purposes.
- Business transfers — if PropertyIQ is acquired, merged, or its assets are sold, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you before your data becomes subject to a materially different privacy policy.
- Legal requirements — we may disclose information when required by law, court order, or governmental authority, or to protect the safety, rights, or property of PropertyIQ, our users, or the public.
✅ We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party for advertising or marketing purposes.
5. Payment Processing & PCI-DSS
All payments on PropertyIQ are processed by Stripe, Inc., a PCI-DSS Level 1 certified payment processor — the highest level of security certification in the payments industry.
When you click a payment button, you are redirected to a Stripe-hosted checkout page (buy.stripe.com). At no point do we receive, transmit, or store your card number, expiration date, CVV, or other sensitive authentication data.
The only payment-related data we retain is:
- Your billing email address (used to deliver your report)
- Order tier and amount (for our internal records)
- Stripe's transaction/charge ID (for dispute resolution)
For questions about Stripe's data practices, see stripe.com/privacy.
6. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this policy, including for legal, accounting, and dispute-resolution requirements. Our general retention schedule is:
| Data Category | Retention Period | Reason |
|---|---|---|
| Order records (name, email, property, tier) | 2 years | Customer service, tax compliance |
| Delivered reports | 2 years | Re-delivery support, dispute resolution |
| Contact/support messages | 2 years | Customer service history |
| Payment identifiers (Stripe charge ID) | 7 years | Financial record-keeping requirements |
| Marketing consent records | Until opt-out + 1 year | Proof of consent under CAN-SPAM |
| Web analytics (aggregate, non-personal) | Indefinitely | Site performance optimization |
After the applicable retention period, we delete or anonymize your personal information unless a longer period is required by law.
7. Data Security
We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical security measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. These measures include:
- HTTPS/TLS encryption for all data in transit
- Access controls limiting who can view customer data
- Use of PCI-DSS Level 1 certified payment infrastructure (Stripe)
- Regular review of our security practices
However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we become aware of a security breach affecting your data, we will notify you promptly in accordance with applicable law.
